The Long Weekend

Hours & hours in the car.
Picking up a 'stranger' in Springville.
Mohawks and Mustaches.
One really hot day in Arizona.
The greatest chocolate milkshake on earth.
12 miles and 29 military style obstacles.
Barbed-wire,  ice cold water, 15 foot walls, live- wire, and a whole lot of mud.
Comparing bruises and cuts.

Congrats Park you did it! And probably had the greatest mohawk there.

If this crazy race looks like fun to anyone else... there is going to be one in UT in October.

Milestones

I really enjoy being Aunt Jess.  Who wouldn't want to hang out with these kids?

I talk about them more than people probably care to hear. I can't help it. They are the greatest. I am continually amazed by the things they say and do and the people they are becoming.
Because I grew up so close to them (in age and location) I have been lucky enough to be there for several milestones. I was there the day almost all of them were born. I have seen first steps, dropped kids off at their first sleepovers, helped out with carpools, been invited to birthday parties, seen first broken bones and first casts stitches staples and almost anything else. I have been to baseball games and dance recitals. If it was possible I would be at every milestone of their life. Although I think my cool aunt ranking would drop significantly if I was hiding in the bushes on their first dates. But I'll be to all of the big days that I can be.
Last Saturday was a really big day, a milestone. My awesome nephew, who has been able to jump a curb on his bike better than I can since he was 4, and can kick my trash at Just Dance on the WII, Landon Castle made the decision to be baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was a special day.
the night before playing some Just Dance

It took me a long time to introduce Parker to my family. I don't like to share them with just anyone. At first I wondered how Parker would handle the noise, the chaos, the kids. But I had nothing to worry about. The friendships I have been forming with them since they were born he was able to create almost instantly. They loved him on the spot.... because I did.
There was a sudden rise in Philadelphia Eagles fans among my nephews. A few of the kids have a new found interest in penguins. Captain Crunch became lots of peoples favorite cereal. There are lots of little things. And some big ones.
A few weeks ago Landon asked Parker if he would speak at his baptism. The whole experience was amazing. It was the first baptism Parker and I had been to since his own. It was such a great reminder about the important things in life. As an added bonus it was one of those times I could see just how much my husband enjoys being Uncle Parker.

Congrats Landdog. We are so glad that we could be there and be a part of your big day. We couldn't be happier for you. I would say that we love you a lot but I wouldn't want to embarrass you, so virtual fist bump it is.
