Impromptu 5k

Eagle Mountain held a Run For Boston 5k last weekend. My sister and her family were running it, and about twenty minutes before it started we decided we wanted to participate too. My sister was able to register for us real quick and we got there just in time.

Our lack of planning = my lack of appropriate foot wear

Because running in my Sperrys while 18 weeks pregnant sounded like a bad idea... we told my sister and her husband to run their hearts out and we would push the kiddos. Technically Parker pushed and I just had a nice stroll.

We spent a lot of time pulled over to adjust jackets, stroller straps, and break up the occasional fight. But we had so much fun. And even though it took us a while it felt good to cross that finish line.

It was a wonderful Friday night.

Hand Sucker

Sixteen weeks.
That's where we're at. Our baby is about the size of an avocado, makes facial expressions and has both eyebrows and eyelashes.
We got a sneak peak at the little one yesterday and there was a little hand right on a little mouth. We have our very own hand sucker.  Not the thumb, the back of the hand. Our kid is the most endearing little gray blob on a screen that I have ever seen.
I feel flutters these days. Not all the time but they are becoming more and more frequent. In the next couple of weeks I am told they will turn into kicks. I still can't believe how blessed we are. It is all pretty amazing.

This and That.

What we have been up to in no particular order.

We had a little party over here on Monday night to watch the game.  Parker really made all of the food but, my secret super power (contacts) makes me the designated onion slicer .

This is me waiting at my doctors office. They give me one of those buzzers like they do at restaurants. First time it buzzes you go back and the nurse does her thing (blood pressure, weight kind of stuff) then you go out and wait again. Buzz number two means there is a room ready for you.
Then you wait in the room for the doctor. But don't worry they provide educational entertainment.

You grab the remote select how far along you are then it suggests short videos for you to watch.
It is a really long wait for a pretty quick visit with the doctor. But hearing the heartbeat makes it well worth it, and we walk out of there happy as can be.

We have one sad cone head of a dog over here. Poor guy.

This is my favorite thing making its way around the Internet right now.

We had a wonderful conference weekend. I know it is not really a holiday, but if it was it would be my favorite. It was a weekend of comfort and peace. And cinnamon rolls.  Any favorites? These are a few of mine,

Jill sent me this picture of Tayla

Last conference she was so small.

She is one special miracle baby.

Guess where we are going to be next year...

Right here.

We aren't ready to leave Logan quite yet. And thanks to this guy, we don't have to.

(notice the rockin Easter tie)

Parker will be getting his MBA at Utah State!
He is pretty much a rock star. And I am so proud of him.

I am also thrilled that we get to stay a little longer in the place that has become home to both of us.

This means we get to enjoy the three dollar movie theater a little bit longer. We won't stop complaining about the continual traffic jam on Main Street just yet. This spring will not bring an end to our last Logan winter.  And on occasion we will still walk by the dorms we lived in when we met.

I am sure a time will come when we pack up and leave Logan. When the time is right I'll be ready. But not yet.

Congratulations Parker!
New experience, same location.
At this rate you will have a Masters and a one year old by the time you are twenty-four.
Just saying.

Logan Got Fooled

CacheValleyDaily.Com published this yesterday.....

LDS Church to purchase Utah State University, rename it BYU-Logan

For people that read the entire article, it was clear it was a joke. Or for people who remembered what the date was. But with so many people just looking at the picture and reading the headline many were fooled.  Not everyone was fooled, but everyone who was was not happy. It is really fun to live in a community with so much school pride.
Way to go all you fine folks over at Cache Valley Daily. No one knew you were such pranksters.
Hope everyone had a fun April Fools day!
(Pretty sure this kid did not. )
